Important information on the proof of achievement (Leistungsnachweis) for students receiving BAföG
What is the Leistungsnachweis (proof of achievment)?
At the end of the 4th semester, the BAföG Leistungsnachweis (proof of achievment) is due. You must prove to the BAföG office that you are studying within the standard period of study (i.e. that you have approx. 120 credit points at the start of the 5th semester). You can either use form 5 (Formblatt 5) or submit your transcript of records to provide proof of credits. We recommend that you always use form 5 and NOT submit the transcript of records!
Proof of achievment under 120 LP
In some TU degree programs, a positive Leistungsnachweis is issued for 60 LP or more. BUT: If you have less than 120 credit points, be sure to contact our counseling office before theLeistungsachweis is issued! In most cases, you can find reasons to postpone the Leistungsnachweis and thus study longer with Bafög funding. This is because you will only receive funding for two semesters after you have received a positive Leistungsnachweis. If you receive a positive Leistungsnachweis with less than 120 credit points, you must achieve 180 credit points within two semesters.
