The survey on the nationwide semester ticket for the winter semester 2026/27 has been open since May 4 and will run until May 8, 2026 on ISIS.

For the semester ticket to continue, at least 10% of students must participate and the majority must vote “yes.” Only then will the contract be concluded—otherwise, the ticket will be discontinued for the winter semester 2026/27.

Current situation:
Since the summer semester 2025, the Germany semester ticket in Berlin and Brandenburg has been offered exclusively via S-Bahn Berlin (app only). BVG no longer provides contracts with universities. The current contract is fixed until the summer semester 2028, and there will be no alternative ticket during this period.

Price & conditions:
The ticket remains a solidarity model, meaning all students pay a mandatory fee, but at a significantly reduced price (around 60% of the regular Germany ticket).
The price remains unchanged until September 30, 2026.
From winter semester 2026/27 onwards, the price will increase to €37.80 per month (€226.80 per semester). Conditions and benefits remain the same.
