Table of contents: What is the current status? The TU Berlin student parliament decided on 8 June 2023 not to extend the semester ticket at the current conditions, as the offer of the Verkehrsverbund Berlin Brandenburg (VBB) does not justify a solidarity model. Solidarity model means that all students must pay for a ticket regardless […]
Information on ticket options and new information can be found here:https://asta.tu-berlin.de/en/artikel-englisch/ticket-for-the-winter-semester-2023-24/ As of the winter semester 2023/24, there will no longer be a semester ticket. This was decided by the student parliament (StuPa) in its meeting last Thursday, 08.06.23. The reason for this is the failed negotiations with the VBB. Already in the past semesters, […]

we would like to welcome you to the TU Berlin and wish you a successful summer semester.
Who are we? We are the General Student Committee (AStA) of the TU Berlin. As students, we stand up for your interests in state and university politics – our work is therefore politics by students for students.
To help you get through your studies as stress-free as possible, we offer a wide range of advising services, from university and legal advising to BAföG and social to advising for international students. So if you feel you need help, please contact us and we will try to support you as much as possible.
Our current services also include the semester ticket office, which can answer general questions about the semester ticket and where you can apply for a subsidy or exemption from the student fee. In our alternative library you can find critical literature and our Technical Equipment Pool may help you when you organize an event.
Our departments (Referate) work on a wide range of political topics, such as environment and sustainability, criticism of technology and science, and social policy. Recently, we were able to work with other Berlin student representatives to make the new Berlin University Act more student-friendly. But also the student housing policy is a major concern for us. Therefore, we support the campaign Deutsche Wohnen & Co Enteignen and invite you to the Expropriation Conference from May 27-29 at the TU.
We also have 4 autonomous departments, which stand for the interests of specific groups of people, the Queer Department, Women’s Department, Department for International Students and the Department for Black, Indigenous and People of Color.
If you are interested in our political work or services, come see us at AStA (TK building) or explore our website.
Stay healthy and show solidarity. See you on campus! Your ASTA TU
