Job advertisement: Server and computer administration

We are looking for a new collective member for the server and computer support of the AStA of the TU Berlin as of March 1, 2025.

What are your responsibilities?

Together with another person, you will look after the computer and server infrastructure of the General Students Committee of the TU Berlin. The tasks include the administration of the mail, terminal, print, backup and web servers as well as the user terminals, print copiers and the network infrastructure. You will also be involved in the further development of our in-house software.

The following skills are desirable:

  • Experience in the administration (hardware and software) of Linux systems with the above-mentioned services
  • Experience with web programming with the programming languages Python (Django) or Ruby (Rails).
  • Experience with Unix scripts, e.g. Bash.
  • Independent participation in communication with other AStA departments as well as the central university IT administration Ability to work in a team, social competence, reliability, open and friendly nature

If you are studying an (IT) technical subject (at the TU Berlin) and/or are involved with computer stuff in your spare time, we think you might be suitable for the position.

The job offers:

  • A working time of 41 hours per month
  • An hourly wage of 17.73 euros
  • A contract term of 2 years with the desired option to extend
