In addition to AStA and studies, there are many other places where student life takes place at the university.
Would you like to get involved on campus beyond your studies? Is helping to shape your course of study so important to you that you want to be involved in it yourself? Or would you simply like to help shape the campus with like-minded students?
There are many opportunities to actively participate in campus life and make the university a more pleasant place for everyone. We would like to introduce you to a few of them here.
Campus Life
At the TU, various student council initiatives (FSI or Ini for short) have organized themselves to improve the conditions in their respective degree programs and/or faculties, to represent the interests of their fellow students or simply to exchange ideas with other students from their degree programs. The various student cafés are also ideal for this.
There are also cross-curricular initiatives that deal with more general political issues. You can find an overview of some student restaurants and cafés via this Link.
Our alternative campus map shows the route to the various student structures.
The Sprach- und Kulturbörse (SKB) organizes language courses and cultural exchanges.
University Policy
There are various university policy committees at the TU in which, among other things, decisions are made about the form and development of the various degree programs or how funding should be distributed. As a rule, the student body also has a say and right of co-determination here, which is exercised by elected, voluntary students.
The Berlin student representatives are also active beyond the university, for example in the amendment of the Berlin Higher Education Act (BerlHG). To this end, we are networked via the Landes-ASten-Konferenz (LAK), which is responsible for the state-wide coordination of joint campaigns and other collaborations.
You may also be interested in the work of our departments. You don’t have to have been elected to support them in their work. You can find out what they are currently working on and how you can contact them via the corresponding pages.
Under the heading Frequently asked questions we want to aggregate some of the knowledge of the student body.
If you feel unsure about who to contact, you can also address your concerns to the AStA general office.
